About me, Nageena Akhtar

Who is Dr Nageena Akhtar?

When Dr Nageena was just 11 years of age she had her first experience of the Chiropractic profession.
This initial exposure to the miracle of Chiropractic occurred when she witnessed her mother’s 25-year-history of weekly migraines resolve after adjustments to her neck.
Dr. Nageena started dedicating her life to acquiring that ‘magic in her hands’ she immediately began reading biology and human anatomy books in order to acquire these skills.

Dr Nageena discovered that specialist training, and a Masters level education, was the minimum requirement to become a qualified Doctor of Chiropractic.
Ever determined, she continued her studies and earned an unconditional offer to the prestigious Anglo European College of Chiropractic (AECC), UK.
Dr Nageena excelled in her education and graduated in 2006 with awards of ‘Best All-round Student’, along with the honorable ‘Students’ Student Award’.

During her University training Dr Nageena was an Academic Liaison Officer for the Student Union, this enabled her to ensure the highest level of education was delivered and maintained.
She also was selected for the role of Head Delegate for the World Congress of Chiropractic Students (WCCS) where she represented the AECC in RMIT, Melbourne, Australia.

Dr. Nageena’s has a special interest in Neurology.

The Story Of Nageena

My life's work is dedicated to supporting parents to more deeply connect with and enjoy loving, their autistic and neuro-developmentally challenged children.

The journey is a personal one. Dani, my 9 year old son is my inspiration, my reflection and my love.
I look forward to us discovering more beauty in what can feel like a lonely, soul breaking path.
I am here to help children be the best they can be.

On the right side, you can see my son Dani.
He was diagnosed with severe Autism at the age of three. Dani’s Paediatrician informed me that my son would require 24-hour care for the rest of his life, that he would never be independent and would most likely never learn to speak.

I have risen to the challenge in order to help my son. To date I have completed over 10,000 hours of research into Autism and most known interventions.
My journey continues.

The only thing that interferes with my learning, is my education

Nageena's story continues

Shortly following her son’s death, her elder son Dani was diagnosed with severe Autism, he was three years old. Dani’s Paediatrician informed Dr Nageena that Dani would require 24-hour care for the rest of his life, that he would never be independent and would most likely never learn to speak. Dr Nageena rose to the challenge in order to help her son. She has completed over 10,000 hours of research into Autism and all known interventions. She has helped Dani using functional neurology, functional medicine, ABA, Gaps diet and exercise. Four years later Dani is now seven and a half; he is fully verbal and enjoying life in mainstream education. He is showing a lot of character and has a passion for boxing.

Tragically Dr Nageena lost a second baby, Qasim, in 2016 to the same neurometabolic condition as her previous son. She has entered the 100 000 genome study in order to further research into neurological disease. Dr Nageena is passionate about helping families to improve their health and to ensure that parent’s voices are always heard and their concerns taken seriously. Dr Nageena is committed to providing the highest level of care.

When asked what she does, Dr Nageena says, ‘I am dedicated to helping people and particularly children, by enabling the human body to work optimally through chiropractic specialist techniques, functional neurology and rehabilitation. Every child I am able to serve, enables me to honour my sons, as I look for my sons in every child I see. This is my calling, to help serve others’. Dr Nageena continues to learn through seminars, extensive reading and further study. She is determined to be at the highest level of her profession and has a particular interest in how nutrition, diet and neurological exercises can help developmental delays in children.
